Robert Cannan – Co-Founder
Writer/Director/Producer

Rob’s feature documentary The Lovers and the Despot, co-directed with Ross Adam, was nominated for the World Cinema Documentary Grand Jury Prize at Sundance. Peter Bradshaw called it “riveting” in The Guardian. It was selected for BBC Storyville and released by Magnolia Pictures in the US, Soda Pictures in the UK and Netflix worldwide.

He previously co-directed Three Miles North of Molkom, winner of the Audience Award at Gothenburg and nominated for Best British Documentary at the British Independent Film Awards and with a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. As producer he made the period thriller Fanny Lye Deliver’d (The Delivered in the US), written and directed by Thomas Clay and starring Maxine Peake, Charles Dance and Freddie Fox. It was included in Rotten Tomatoes Best Films of 2021.

Rob is currently working on a slate of docs and fiction at various stages of development and production.

Tom Pearson – Co-Founder
Tom is an Executive Producer and Director, who has made critically acclaimed award-winning documentary singles and series for Netflix, the BBC, ITV and Channel 4.

Tom is currently executive producing a three-episode documentary series for Netflix.

Lucy Owen – Producer

With over 20 years’ experience developing and delivering projects across film, visual arts and socially engaged practice. Lucy specialises in initiating, developing and producing work from across the cultural spectrum. Her expertise in supporting marginalised voices brings more than a decade of experience in safeguarding and welfare producing.

Lucy established a new documentary filmmaking programme, at Bethlem Gallery, London, securing 100% funding, commissioning directors and producing their entire film catalogue.

Lucy is developing and producing a slate of films for cinema and broadcast.


Our team includes non-Executive Directors Nick Curwin and Scarlett Ewens – whose company Matisse owns a stake in Hellflower.
